For those of you who don't know, Violet is obsessed with Lawrence Ave., the main street that runs alongside our apartment building. She will normally put her top paws up on the couch or on a window sill and just look out—pretty much all day.
This past Saturday, however, she didn't just do the typical "paws up" pose. Instead, she curled herself up (like a cat) on the top part of our couch cushions (not the couch itself), and just slept/observed for the afternoon, basking in the sunlight we've been waiting for since December.
I thought it was impossibly cute, but I'll let you be the judge:

House Party
Our friends Adam and Sarah recently purchased their first home in Albany Park, and we were honored to celebrate with them this Friday, participating in both a house blessing and inaugural shindig.
Their new place is gorgeous and very well appointed. Here's to many more evenings of good beer and good conversation.

Belated Easter Blessings
In a truly communal Easter celebration, Heath and I hosted a group of 9 (at one point, we thought 11!) people for dinner. Such a grand event required beautiful place settings, a delicious roast and—oh by the way—a much larger table.
In true impromptu Carter style, we bought a table (for 14) the day before and, come Sunday, found a seat for everyone—although Violet was forced to sit under the table.
